Athletic (& Academic) Scholarships are offered through Colleges or Universities (which are the same thing) in North America. There are multiple governing bodies, divisions and conferences of which you may qualify for, depending on your Academic and Athletic eligibility that is determined by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

There are many things you need to take into consideration in preparing to apply for College Scholarships. Your Academic grades need to be considered first, as the different Divisions have different Academic Requirements. Academic grades are the backbone of your College experience, perform well in the classroom and you can play on the team. High School grades, SAT and TOEFL (where required) exam results can be used to your advantage to secure a combination of Academic and Athletic Scholarship.

Read about your Sport in the NCAA, learn some history along the way and remember, no matter how good you are as an Athlete, everyone has the same Academic Requirements to qualify as a Freshman!
