Marlie’s Introduction: My dream and objective is to play the sport I love at the highest level whilst achieving my academic goals. I have the drive and work ethic to ensure that I am successful in both areas and to represent my College, Team and Family with passion and always giving 100% of myself.

College Goals: I wish to become an integral player within the rotation of my team earning the respect of my team mates and coaching staff alike. I wear my heart on my sleeve and will represent with passions, courage and determination endeavoring to become the number 1 catcher. I will translate my on field abilities to my academic abilities and will always strive to ensure I get the best results for my future.

Life Goals: I aspire to stay as competitive in this sport for as long as possible, whilst maintaining a teaching job, to teach young children and guide them. Once my body no longer enables me to be competitive I would like to channel my passion or Softball into coaching young children in the sport to hopefully grow the game and keep young people involved.

Why do you want to compete at College in the USA? To gain further experience in my Softball as a player and to experience new coaching staff that will push me out of my own comfort zones and further develop my game. I want to experience this within the College system to allow for my education and my life after the game of Softball. This is effectively having the best of both worlds academically and athletically.

What makes you different? My Mental Strength! Whilst I love competing I have discovered that you have to be well rounded both on and off the diamond. I am competitive however I have tough mental strength that allows me to handle pressure situations and I seem to thrive in these times. I am independent and have a fun personality that allows me to fit into most teams and friendships have always been formed. I know who I am and what I want to achieve and I understand the hard work required to get it!
